Expungement is available only if the charges were dismissed by Nolle Pros or pursuant to an acquittal at trial. If you pled guilty to any part of your original charges—even if the charges were reduced, then you are not eligible for Expungement. In many cases expungement of a criminal arrest is a simple process that does not require an attorney. Obtain an application from the arresting agency and simply process the application.
